Information Security
The University makes every effort to protect networked devices and institutional data from cyber attacks. Networked devices must meet basic security requirements by running a current, vendor-supported operating system and having up-to-date malware prevention software enabled. Devices that do not meet these requirements may be restricted or blocked from accessing institutional systems and services.
Individuals are responsible for the security of their personal devices and for protecting institutional data accessed, stored or transmitted using those devices. Institutional data must be handled in accordance with applicable policies even when accessed from non-institutionally owned equipment. Approved institutional cloud storage and backup services must be used to protect data and ensure recovery in the event of device loss or system failure. Use of unapproved cloud services for institutional data is not permitted.
